MegaStructures is a documentary television series appearing on the National Geographic Channel and Five in the United Kingdom, on France 5 in France and on 7mate in Australia.
Each episode is an educational look of varying depth into the construction, operation, and staffing of various structures or construction projects, but not ordinary construction products.
Generally containing interviews with designers and project managers, it presents the problems this involved the or products that are now in general use within the construction industry.
MegaStructures focuses on constructions that are extreme; in the sense that they are the biggest, tallest, longest, or deepest in the world. Alternatively, a project may appear if it had an element of novelty or are a world first (such as Dubai's Palm Islands). This type of project is known as a Megaproject

One of the most destructive and unpredictable forces in nature, an earthquake strikes without warning and causes immense destruction.More than one million earthquakes shake the earth every year. Most are barely felt, others are events so huge they transform lives and landscapes in an instant. Most large earthquakes are caused by massive slabs of the Earth's crust called tectonic plates crashing into, or sliding under each other. But others seemingly come from no where.Using archive footage, computer animation, and expert interviews, we expose the killer characteristics of natural disasters, leading to an ultimate disaster.Mega Disaster series takes viewers beyond the news footage, beyond the aftermath, and on a tour of the anatomy of these mega events to understand their genesis and the multitude of factors that contribute to their subsequent impact. In the final act of each Mega Disaster episode, we construct a disaster scenario, using expert information and brought to life with astounding computer graphics, an event of such scale, enormity, and power, it will eclipse all other disasters - truly a mega disaster. The final act of Mega Disaster: Earthquake will illustrate in detail the causes and possible effects of a mega-quake - another 9.5 mega-quake striking near Chile's largest cities. It is a mega disaster that would release the equivalent energy of two million Hiroshima bombs, tearing Chile apart and spawning giant waves that would devastate the entire Pacific.

Yankee Stadium - home to the New York Yankees for over eight decades, and host to thirty-three World Series - is about to be demolished. It's a mega job, with mega challenges. But the first task at hand is saving parts of the stadium. Everything from the seats…to the sod will be sold. When the memorabilia salvage is over, the teams get straight to work at clearing out the stadium of anything that's not part of structure. From kitchen equipment, to light bulbs, to the famous outfield facade …it's all got to go. Then, the final breakdown. With an army of mega machines, the demo teams must systematically rip and strip-out the first two-tiers of seating until the stadium's nothing but a skeleton….then pull it down. But they're working within feet of a subway system that won't stop running. There's no room for error, and the job starts now.

Catastrophe is sadly never far from the news headlines, with this years tsunami in Japan and the Chilean earthquake of 2010 continuing to loom large in the memories of millions. In the UK premiere of Doomsday Earth join experts who examine the likelihood of the planet being struck by both a mega-tsunami and a mega-quake. Their findings are not good news. It seems a giant fault line beneath the sea is readying itself for a violent explosion of activity, and the race is on to calculate when rather than if, this megathrust will do its worst. Theyre focus is also on the terrifying trend that has seen the Earth struck by a series of devastating natural disasters. And they predict that the worst could still be yet to come...where do you think Mother Nature will strike next?
